Mon Mothma herself has ordered High Command to respond to this call despite the area itself being under heavy Imperial control. This represents a tactical opportunity for the Rebel Alliance if we can successfully support the local resistance forces and allow them to effectively fight the Empire. This will be no easy task, no efforts against this sector have ever been dared implemented due the superiority of the Imperial forces within it. Mon Mothma supported by Admiral Ackbar feel there is a chance to push out the Imperial occupying forces if we can rally the local populace to rise up. Combined our forces will have a much better standing to take on the Empire in the sector.

The Great Expanse is a large area in the Outer Rim, which is occupied by several factions that are either opposed or neutral to the Empire. We already have a small force in the Expanse, which has been monitoring Imperial activity. They have recently begun to observe a build up of Imperial forces and this is a cause for concern. The Empire has also been forcing the other factions to co-operate with them. The Navreem is one of the largest factions and has formed a coalition with several other smaller factions. The Navreem have recently come forward and asked for our help in their struggle against the Empire.

The Expanse is also a good location for a base due to its isolation and the vast resources within it, if the Empire gains control of this area of space they will be able to control a substantial area of the Outer Rim. This would be a great threat to our future operations and possibly endanger the survival of the Rebellion, which depends on the safety of the Outer Rim.

Rogue Squadron has been part of our small force observing Imperial activities. Once the Cruiser Liberty arrives with the task force Rogue Squadron will then participate in the campaign.
